Ray and Lena track down Ferrati at a hotel where he's having an affair with a woman. They sneak into his room and plant a bug under his bed. They listen as Ferrati confesses to ordering the hit on Winslow and bribing judges and cops. They record everything and send it to Emerson.

Anita goes ahead with her campaign rally, where she is joined by Mac (Domenick Lombardozzi), who has decided to support her after quitting his job as a cop. However, as she is about to give her speech, she is shot by a sniper hired by the mayor. Mac rushes to her side and tries to save her, but she dies in his arms.

Ray gets a call from Terry, who tells him that Bunchy has been arrested and that he needs his help. Ray says he'll be right there, but before he can leave, he sees Mac on TV holding Anita's body. He realizes that Mac was his friend from the hospital who saved his life after his suicide attempt. He feels guilty and responsible for his pain.
